About us

 The Agenzia per il Turismo di Pisa (Pisa Tourism Agency - APT Pisa) has been assigned to manage all aspects relating to tourism in the Province.

With a view to promoting the territory's resources and its individual and unique elements, both in Italy and abroad, and to improving the tourism system, APT Pisa essentially coordinates all of the strategic marketing and communication operations within the territory.

The agency acts as the "control tower", working closely with the foremost public and private bodies in the sector (Province, Chamber of Commerce, Tourism consortiums, airport, vehicle, tour operator and business Associations) to plan and implement the promotional and support activities in order to market the territory’s tourism products (through participation at fairs and workshops, journalist and television crew support, tourism portals, public relations and press office activities with the media, editorial material production, sponsorship).

The APT also works with the entire regional and national tourism system under an umbrella of common, far-reaching projects.

While the role of APT covers a number of important areas, promotion may be considered the most evident as it has the greatest influence on strengthening the tourism image. Monitoring and directing the progress of the sector is a fundamental element and is considered part of the office’s daily work, through the consistent execution of the following activities:

  • gathering and processing tourism data in order to provide regular qualitative and quantitative analyses records and guarantee adherence to the applicable laws;
  • providing operators in the sector with information and support so that procedures are followed in regards to opening new business ventures;
  • monitoring the quality of public and private tourism services through investigation and interviews;
  • research and studies designed to identify developments in the sector and/or analyse specific markets and products;
  • tour operator updating and training.
